Upper eyelid lift in Vienna
An upper eyelid lift corrects sagging upper eyelids (drooping eyelids). The latter can either be genetic or caused by natural ageing. Very pronounced drooping eyelids are often not only a cosmetic problem, but in extreme cases can considerably restrict the field of vision.
Lower eyelid lift in Vienna
Lower eyelid lifts eliminate so-called bags under the eyes. These are inherited or are caused by age-related sagging of the lower eyelid connective tissue. Troublesome bags under the eyes often occur in combination with decreasing elasticity of the lower eyelid skin.

How does an eyelid correction at JUVENIS work?
The surgical procedure is usually performed on an outpatient basis under local anesthesia. On average, the operation takes about an hour.
Several surgical procedures with different incisions are possible depending on the initial situation: the incisions run along the natural crease of the upper eyelid, depending on the extent of the excess skin, the incisions in the lower eyelid area can run from the "outside" (just below the lash line) or from the "inside" (conjunctiva of the lower eyelid).
The latter method is only possible if your problem only consists of small bags of fat under the eyes and no excess skin needs to be removed. This method leaves no visible scars.
During lower eyelid skin tightening, the excess skin is removed and the underlying fat pad is repositioned. The muscle can also be tightened and repositioned. The edges of the wound are united with very fine sutures. The scars are barely visible in almost all cases.

What measures are important after an eyelid lift?
Thanks to the particularly gentle surgical technique used by our plastic surgeons, the risks are kept as low as possible. After the procedure, it is particularly important to cool the treated area. This should be done regularly in the first few days after the operation. You should not be exposed to direct sunlight/heat for the first 10 days (wear sunglasses). No heavy lifting is permitted until approx. 14 days after the operation. Furthermore, any physical exertion and mechanical stress such as rubbing your eyes, wearing contact lenses or make-up should be avoided. When bending down, you should bend your knees rather than leaning forward. The stitches are removed after 4 to 7 days. Slight swelling in the eye area may occur. This will subside after 7 to 14 days at the latest. In the case of lower eyelid surgery, the swelling can last a little longer, up to a maximum of six weeks, but the extent of the swelling decreases significantly from week to week.

**The costs of an eyelid lift are normally borne by the patient. If there are serious medical reasons that make an eyelid lift/lepharoplasty necessary, you can apply to your health insurance company for a contribution towards the costs.

Eyelid surgery (blepharoplasty) is a surgical procedure designed to correct sagging skin, drooping eyelids, or under-eye bags. The goal is to achieve a fresher, more alert-looking eye area and a more youthful overall appearance.
An eyelid lift is suitable for patients who:
Have drooping eyelids or sagging upper eyelids
suffer from under-eye bags or excess skin on the lower eyelid
look tired or worn out
who wish to improve their vision (in cases of severe ptosis)
Suitability is determined on an individual basis during a consultation.
An upper eyelid lift involves removing excess skin from the upper eyelid.
A lower eyelid lift reduces under-eye bags and tightens the skin under the eyes. Both procedures can also be performed in combination.
The procedure is usually performed under local anesthesia, or under twilight sedation if desired. Excess skin and, if necessary, fatty tissue are removed, and the eyelids are reshaped. The procedure typically takes 45 to 90 minutes.
Thanks to the anesthesia, you won’t feel any pain during the procedure. After the procedure, you may experience a slight feeling of tightness or some swelling, both of which can be easily treated.
The initial recovery period lasts about 7 to 10 days. During this time, swelling or bruising may occur. After about two weeks, you will usually be able to resume your normal social activities. Following lower eyelid surgery, swelling may last up to 6 weeks.
The first results are visible as soon as the swelling subsides. The final results become apparent after a few weeks to a few months, once the healing process is complete.
The incisions are made so that they follow the natural skin folds. As a result, the scars are usually barely visible and fade significantly over time.
As with any surgical procedure, risks such as swelling, bruising, infection, or temporary eye irritation may occur. These risks are minimized through careful technique and proper aftercare.
The results typically last for many years. The natural aging process continues, but at a more youthful pace.
The cost depends on whether the procedure involves the upper eyelid, the lower eyelid, or both, as well as on individual circumstances.
