Abdominoplasty – Tummy Tuck in Vienna

A smooth and firm abdomen is very attractive in both men and women. An abdominoplasty, also known as a tummy tuck, can provide a remedy here and smooth out a sagging abdomen again.

Pregnancies, as well as major weight fluctuations (both weight gain and weight loss), are typical causes of "abdominal problems." When excess fat, skin folds, and sagging tissue develop, the smooth and firm abdomen disappears.
Depending on the degree of tissue laxity, an individually tailored abdominoplasty or a classic complete abdominoplasty is used.

The operation

To smooth out a sagging abdomen, fat tissue and excess skin are removed during the abdominoplasty, and the sagging abdominal muscles are tightened. The operation is performed in such a way that the navel remains in its position; only the skin is tightened downwards like a curtain. The wound is then closed in layered sutures. A transverse scar forms above the pubic mound. Finally, a compression bandage is applied.

The classic tightening of the abdominal wall is a complex and extensive procedure that our plastic surgeons perform under general anesthesia in a cooperating hospital.

The hospital stay depends on the healing process and lasts an average of 3-5 days if there are no complications.

After the operation

After 1 to 2 days, the compression bandage can be replaced by a special abdominal binder, which should be worn day and night for another 6 weeks.

In the first 4 to 6 weeks after the operation, it is necessary to sleep on your back or side and avoid lying on your stomach.

Sports should be avoided for 6-8 weeks after the operation.
