Correction of protruding ears in Vienna
Ear correction with JUVENIS
Protruding ears very often lead to severe psychological stress for the person affected. In this case, corrective surgery can help to improve self-esteem and increase confidence in the social environment.
In children, such an operation may be performed from the age of 5. It is therefore recommended that this procedure is carried out before children start school to protect them from teasing.

Consultation
At JUVENIS, it is very important to us that you receive comprehensive advice and information in addition to excellent medical care. Our plastic surgeons will examine your ears in detail, analyze your personal wishes and ideas and develop an individual treatment concept depending on the ear malformation. The costs incurred by you will also be discussed.
Only when you have made a decision in peace and quiet and all your questions have been answered in detail will we arrange a treatment appointment with you.
With children, it is particularly important to pay attention to their feelings. A child must not be pressured into it, they must decide to have the procedure themselves so that good cooperation with the doctor is possible.

Ear correction: The operation
In adults, the operation is usually performed under local anesthesia, but can also be performed under general anesthesia; this is decided on an individual basis. In younger children, it is usually performed under general anesthesia.
- Duration of surgery: 1 to 2 hours
If the surgical and postoperative course is free of complications, a day hospital stay is sufficient. A clinical stay is possible if required.
Surgical technique
The correction is performed through a skin incision on the back of the ear, the cartilage is processed and modeled using special techniques so that a natural aesthetic result is achieved and the ear does not look "operated on".
After the operation
After the operation, an ear and head bandage is applied, which can usually be replaced after 1 to 2 days with a lighter ear bandage with a headband. A headband should be worn day and night for 6 weeks. Stitches are removed after 7 to 14 days. During this time, the bandage should always be kept clean and dry.
Cost of ear correction
*The costs of an ear correction depend on the initial situation and the length of stay in hospital. For children, part of the costs are usually covered by statutory health insurance.
In order to work out the right treatment concept for you, we would like to invite you to a detailed consultation (€ 90) with our plastic surgeons. A detailed individual cost estimate will then be drawn up during this consultation.
