CE-certified antibody tests

Corona antibody test in Vienna

We now offer CE-certified antibody test procedures (igG) for the SARS-CoV-2 virus, also known as the corona virus. A blood sample is required for the antibody test. This determines whether the patient has produced antibodies against SARS-CoV-2.

It is currently assumed that after a SARS-CoV-2 or corona infection, immunological protection against a new infection occurs. However, it is still unclear how long this immunity lasts after the infection.

FAQs

An antibody test determines whether your immune system has already been exposed to the coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2) or has responded to a vaccine. The test measures specific antibodies in the blood.

The test may indicate:

  • whether a previous infection with SARS-CoV-2 has occurred

  • whether antibodies were produced after vaccination

  • how strong the immune response is

A test may be helpful if you:

  • want to know if you've already had the infection

  • want to check your immune response after a vaccination

  • need a medical evaluation

A small blood sample is taken for the test. It is then analyzed in the laboratory. The test is quick and straightforward.

The blood draw is usually well tolerated. You will only feel a brief prick.

The results are usually available shortly and will be communicated to you accordingly.

Modern laboratory tests are very reliable. However, their accuracy depends on when the test is performed and your individual immune response.

No. The antibody test is not suitable for detecting an acute infection. PCR or antigen tests are required for that.

A positive test indicates an immune response. Whether protection develops and how long it lasts can vary from person to person and cannot be fully predicted.

Side effects are rare. Occasionally, there may be slight bruising at the injection site.

Blood draw and SARS-CoV-2 antibody test starting at €60.

Depending on the situation, your health insurance may cover the cost. This depends on the reason for the test.

At JUVENIS, you benefit from state-of-the-art laboratory diagnostics, fast turnaround times, and expert medical care. The results are professionally interpreted and clearly explained.
