The initial consultation

At JUVENIS we not only want to provide you with the best medical care, but also ensure that you feel well advised and fully informed. For this reason, a thorough consultation takes place before the actual breast augmentation treatment.

In this consultation our aesthetic surgeons address your individual wishes and aesthetic concerns. They will discuss your expectations and ideas with you and outline both the possibilities and limitations of breast augmentation. A treatment plan tailored personally to you will be created. The costs that will apply to you are also discussed.

Before the operation

Since the operation is performed under general anesthesia, an internal surgical clearance is standardly required. In addition, depending on age, a breast examination (mammography or ultrasound) should be performed.

The operation requires no special preparation; 10 days before the procedure you should not take any anticoagulant medications, such as aspirin. We will gladly help you obtain a suitable sports bra for the following weeks after the operation.

The breast augmentation

The procedure is performed under general anesthesia in a cooperating hospital.

The access is usually made through a 4-5 cm incision placed in the inframammary fold. A vacuum tube (drain) is often placed in the cavity prepared for the implant to drain wound secretions (serum), which is removed the next day. The implant can be placed under the pectoralis major muscle or under the glandular tissue. The wound is then closed with layered sutures. Finally, a breast compression bandage is applied, which is replaced the next day by a sports bra.

With an uncomplicated intra- and postoperative course, a day-clinic stay is sufficient. If required, an inpatient stay is possible.

After the operation

On the first day after the operation the compression bandage can be replaced by a sports bra, which you should wear for a further 5 to 6 weeks.

In the first 4 to 6 weeks after the operation it is important to sleep on your back or on your side and to avoid lying on your stomach. Pay special attention to physical rest (no sports, no sauna, etc.).

Complications can also occur after a surgical procedure carried out with the greatest care and prudence.

In addition to the possible complications associated with general anesthesia, the most common possible complications after a breast operation include the possibility of postoperative bleeding and wound healing disorders.
