Botox treatment against sweating in Vienna
Treating excessive sweating (hyperhidrosis) with Botox
Sweating is a vital process in which a watery secretion is released from sweat glands. The rapid evaporation of sweat removes heat from the body so that the organism is protected from overheating. The amount of sweat required for this can reach several liters per day.
This is to be distinguished from hyperhidrosis, which is an excess of sweating that goes beyond the requirements of thermoregulation. This means that excessive sweating is a malfunction and is not defined by the amount.
In addition to surgical, external (aluminum salts) and drug treatments, Botox® therapy is one of the most effective and well-tolerated methods for reducing sweating.
At JUVENIS, Botox® is used by experienced specialists not only to treat migraines, bruxism and wrinkles, but also to treat hyperhidrosis. Botox® not only leads to muscle relaxation, but can also influence the nerve/sweat gland interface so that excessive sweating no longer affects your everyday life. Treatment against excessive sweating with Botox® delivers the best results.

FAQs
Botox specifically blocks the nerve impulses that activate the sweat glands. This significantly reduces sweat production in the treated areas. The skin remains dry without the body losing its temperature balance.
The treatment is suitable for people who suffer from heavy sweating in the armpits, hands, feet or other parts of the body - especially if conventional methods such as antiperspirants do not help sufficiently.
Typical regions are:
- Armpits
- Soles of the feet
The treatment is individually tailored to your complaints.
After briefly disinfecting the skin, our doctors inject small amounts of Botox directly into the affected areas using extremely fine needles. The treatment takes about 10-20 minutes and is uncomplicated.
The treatment is well tolerated. In the armpit area, it is described as virtually painless. For sensitive areas such as the hands or feet, a numbing cream or local anesthetic can be used beforehand.
Most patients notice a significant improvement within 3-7 days. The maximum effect is achieved after about 2 weeks.
The effect lasts an average of 4-6 months, in some cases even longer. Regular treatments usually lead to a lasting improvement in quality of life.
Possible side effects are small bruises or slight pain at the injection sites, which subside quickly. Temporary muscle weakness, e.g. in the hands, is rare. Overall, the treatment is considered safe and very well tolerated.
No. The body has numerous sweat glands. The treated areas produce less sweat, while temperature regulation is still maintained.
