Modern examinations at JUVENIS in Vienna

Cardiovascular vessels

The heart is our engine of life. It supplies the entire body with blood and vital nutrients via the main artery and a sophisticated vascular system. Disease of the coronary arteries caused by atherosclerosis (hardening of the arteries) is one of the most common causes of heart disease in Europe.

Cardiovascular vascular examination at JUVENIS in Vienna

Modern examinations such as cardiac ultrasound, cardiac catheterization and coronary angiography make the blood vessels and heart visible and make it easier for our specialists to make a careful diagnosis - the prerequisite for optimal treatment (balloon dilation, coronary stent implantation, bypass). Ergometry, on the other hand, measures the performance and exercise capacity of the blood vessels, which also makes this examination method an ideal preventive tool.

However, atherosclerosis can also constrict other blood vessels: for example, those in the legs, noticeable as intermittent claudication(peripheral arterial occlusive disease), or the carotid arteries with impaired blood flow to the brain.

Walking disorders are investigated by our interdisciplinary team for vascular diseases and orthopaedic (spine, hip, knee) and neurological causes.
