Surgical clearance at JUVENIS

The surgical clearance is issued by our female physician for General medicine, Dr. Daniela Themmer. Appointments are always possible on Tuesdays between 9:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m.

The necessary blood draw always takes place on Monday morning at JUVENIS. For this, we ask you to come fasting. This means that you should not eat anything from the end of your evening meal the previous day until your blood draw appointment. However, you should drink enough water and take your medication as usual.

If you have a blood type card, we ask you to show it to our staff at the front desk. A copy of your card will then be attached to the surgical clearance. This way, you avoid unnecessary laboratory costs.

FAQs

Surgical clearance is a medical examination in which it is assessed whether you medically fit for a planned procedure. The goal is to identify potential risks and increase safety during the operation.

A surgical clearance is required before:

  • planned surgical procedures

  • operations under general anesthesia or regional anesthesia

  • outpatient or inpatient procedures

It is usually requested by the treating physician or hospital.

Depending on the procedure and health status, the following examinations may be performed:

  • detailed medical history

  • Physical examination

  • Blood tests

  • ECG (heart examination)

  • if necessary, further diagnostic tests

At the beginning there is a detailed discussion about your pre-existing conditions, medications, and complaints. Afterwards the necessary examinations are carried out. The examination usually takes approx. 20 to 40 minutes.

Most examinations are not painful. Only the blood draw can cause a brief prick.

In some cases, you should:

  • arrive fasting (for blood draw)

  • bring a list of your medications

  • bring relevant findings or medical reports

The clearance is usually given after all necessary examinations have been completed. Depending on the scope, this can be done directly or after a short time.

If risks are identified, this will be discussed with you. In some cases, further examinations or an adjustment of the treatment necessary before an operation can be performed.

The costs depend on the scope of the examination and the necessary tests. A surgical clearance for sedoanalgesia or local anesthesia costs from € 150. A surgical clearance for general anesthesia costs from € 180.

The Exact prices will be provided in a personal consultation..

Depending on medical necessity, a (partial) coverage of costs by the health insurance be possible.

At JUVENIS you benefit from experienced specialists and modern diagnostics. A careful examination ensures that your procedure under optimal medical conditions can be performed.
