Youthful radiance through a facelift in Vienna

Face lift - Facelift at JUVENIS

Over the years, the skin and underlying tissue lose their natural elasticity. A facelift conjures up a youthful, fresh and dynamic radiance in your face.

As the tissue in the face and/or neck slackens and sags over time, the proportions of the face change. Facelift surgery is designed to give the skin and tissue new tension and provide you with long-lasting facial rejuvenation (facial correction).

Today, modern plastic surgery methods make it possible to conjure up a new youthful, fresh and dynamic appearance with a customized facelift.

Mini facelift in Vienna

In a mini facelift, the sagging cheeks are lifted and the skin tightened in a minimally invasive procedure.

Facelift / Facelifting in Vienna

The facelift tightens the skin and tissue in the cheek area, smoothes the nasolabial fold and lifts sagging tissue in the jawline. The incision is made in front of the ear and continues around the base of the earlobe to the back of the ear and curves towards the hairline. During this operation, the connective tissue under the skin (SMAS) is tightened, the excess skin is removed and also tightened. Drains are inserted to drain wound secretions that may form after the operation. These drains are usually removed on the first day after the operation. A head and face bandage is applied after the operation.

Neck lift in Vienna

A neck lift tightens the sagging tissue on the neck. Excess fatty tissue (the so-called double chin) can be corrected by liposuction. The neck lift can be combined well with a facelift.

The costs you will incur will also be discussed.

All your questions will be answered in detail. Only when you have made a decision in peace will we arrange a treatment appointment with you.

Before the facelift - the face lift

As the operation is usually performed under general anesthesia, an internal surgical release is required as standard.

No anticoagulant medication, such as aspirin, should be taken 10 days before the procedure.

Please contact JUVENIS by phone at +43 1 236 3020by e-mail to empfang@juvenismed.at or via the contact formto make an appointment for a consultation or treatment.

The operation

To smooth out a sagging face, a facelift removes excess skin and tissue and tightens the contours of the face. The operation takes about 2-6 hours. A head bandage is applied.

The classic facelift is a procedure that our plastic surgeons perform under general anesthesia in a cooperating hospital.

A minilift can also be performed under local anesthesia or in twilight sleep.

If the surgical and postoperative course is free of complications, a day hospital stay is sufficient. A clinical stay is possible if required.

After the facelift - the face lift

After 1 to 2 days, the head bandage is replaced by a smaller bandage. After the operation, there may be temporary swelling, bruising, numbness and a feeling of tension in the area of the operation.

  • Hair washing, showering and bathing are possible again after removing the head bandage.

  • Make-up can be used again approx. 1-2 weeks after the procedure.

  • Sports and heavy physical work should be avoided for 5-6 weeks after the operation;

  • Avoid sunbathing, visits to the solarium, sauna and steam bath for approx. 6-8 weeks or not possible.

  • Hair coloring and perms are possible again after approx. 6 - 7 weeks.

FAQs

A facelift is a surgical procedure designed to tighten sagging skin and rejuvenate facial contours. During the procedure, excess skin is removed and underlying tissue structures are tightened to achieve a natural, more youthful appearance.

A facelift is suitable for patients who:

  • have significant sagging skin on the face

  • want to correct sagging cheeks or facial contours

  • want to reduce deeper wrinkles (e.g., nasolabial folds)

  • want long-lasting anti-aging results

Suitability is determined on an individual basis during a consultation.

Depending on the method, different areas can be tightened:

  • Cheeks and midface

  • Jawline

  • neck area

  • deep wrinkles in the lower face

The treatment plan is tailored to each individual.

The procedure is usually performed under general anesthesia. During the procedure, the skin and underlying tissue are tightened and repositioned. The procedure typically lasts several hours, depending on its scope.

Minimally invasive procedures (such as Botox or fillers) are primarily used to address individual wrinkles or loss of volume. A facelift, on the other hand, has a more comprehensive effect and allows for a significant tightening of the entire facial contour with long-lasting results.

The initial recovery period lasts about two weeks. Swelling and bruising will gradually subside. After a few weeks, you will generally be back to your normal self.

The initial results are visible immediately after the surgery. The final results become apparent after a few months, once the swelling has completely subsided and the tissue has stabilized.

Yes, scars do form, but they are usually located in such a way that they are barely noticeable at the hairline or behind the ears and fade over time.

As with any surgical procedure, risks such as swelling, bruising, infection, or wound healing complications may occur. Careful planning and follow-up care help minimize these risks.

The results typically last for many years. The natural aging process continues, but at a generally more youthful level.

The cost depends on the extent of the procedure and the individual circumstances.

At JUVENIS, a facelift starts at €7,500, and a mini-facelift starts at €4,500.

You will receive the exact prices during a personal consultation, during which a customized cost estimate will be prepared.

Since this is generally considered a cosmetic procedure, the costs are not covered by health insurance.

At JUVENIS, surgical procedures are performed by experienced specialists in plastic and aesthetic surgery. Through modern surgical techniques, precise planning, and personalized care, we strive to achieve natural, harmonious results with the highest level of safety.

Here, we’ve answered the most common questions about facelifts. If you have any further questions, please feel free to contact us at empfang@juvenismed.at or by phone at +43 1 236 3020.

Risks & side effects

Complications can occur even after a surgical procedure performed with the utmost care and caution.

In addition to the possible complications after a general anesthetic, the most common complications after a facelift include the possibility of post-operative bleeding, impaired wound healing, facial nerve injury and excess scarring. All possible complications are explained in detail during the consultation.
