For visibly fresher, smoother and more resilient skin – gentle, biostimulating and natural.
Polynucleotides (PN)
Also known as the "salmon semen" treatment: This refers to highly purified polynucleotides (often derived from fish DNA) that support skin regeneration. At JUVENIS we use only tested, medical-grade products from renowned European manufacturers (including Croma).
What are polynucleotides (PN)?
Polynucleotides are chains of nucleotides (DNA/RNA building blocks). In aesthetics they are used as biostimulating gels. They can bind moisture, buffer free radicals and promote a regeneration‑friendly skin environment. The result is improved skin quality: smoother texture, more elasticity, finer pores and a healthy glow.
The colloquial term "salmon semen" refers to the source of some PN preparations (fish DNA). The substances used are highly purified, not hormonally active and have nothing to do with fertility products.
Polynucleotides are not fillers in the classic sense. They stimulate and improve the skin environment – ideal for crepe‑skin, fine lines and the eye area.

FAQs
Also known as the "salmon semen" treatment: This refers to highly purified polynucleotides (often derived from fish DNA) that support skin regeneration. They support cell renewal, improve skin elasticity and promote the skin's natural moisture retention – all without a volumizing effect. At JUVENIS we use only tested, medical‑grade products from renowned European manufacturers (including Croma).
The injected polynucleotides stimulate fibroblasts, the cells responsible for producing collagen, elastin and hyaluronic acid. This strengthens the skin structure from within and the complexion appears firmer, fresher and smoother.
Polynucleotides also have antioxidant and anti‑inflammatory effects – ideal even for sensitive or redness‑prone skin.
This treatment is ideal for women and men who notice early signs of skin aging or want to specifically improve their skin structure. It is suitable for the face, neck, décolleté, hands and also the delicate eye area.
After a thorough consultation, the PN-Gel is injected across the skin with very fine needles. The treatment takes about 20–40 minutes per region and is virtually painless. A numbing cream can be used on request.
Initial improvements appear after one to two weeks. The complexion becomes more even and firmer. The full effect develops after about four weeks, once cell activity has been stimulated. For optimal results we recommend a course of 2–3 sessions spaced four weeks apart.
Results are usually visible for 6 to 9 months. Refresh treatments two to three times per year help keep the skin youthful and vital in the long term.
After treatment there may be temporary slight redness or minimal swelling that subsides after a short time. Since polynucleotides are biocompatible and resorbable, the treatment is considered very well tolerated.
Yes. A PN treatment can be ideally combined with laser therapy, microneedling, Botox or hyaluronic acid to further support skin regeneration. Our doctors will advise you individually on the appropriate combination.
Costs depend on region and product and at JUVENIS start at € 390 per session.
You will receive a detailed cost estimate during the personal consultation.
Since this is an aesthetic treatment, the costs are not covered by health insurance. You will receive a fee note for your private billing.
