Examine heart disease, chest pain and shortness of breath with JUVENIS
Examination and treatment of coronary heart disease, angina pectoris, myocardial infarction
The heart is our engine of life. It supplies the entire body with blood and vital nutrients via the main artery and a sophisticated vascular system. Coronary artery disease (CAD) caused by atherosclerosis (hardening of the arteries) is one of the most common causes of heart disease in Europe. With the preventive examinations at JUVENIS in Vienna, the risks of a heart attack or stroke can be detected at an early stage.

Examinations for heart attacks and other heart diseases
Modern examinations such as cardiac ultrasound (echocardiography), carotid ultrasound using color duplex, magnetic resonance, computer tomography and cardiac catheterization (coronary angiography) make the heart and blood vessels visible and make it easier for our specialists to make a careful diagnosis - the prerequisite for optimal treatment with medication (antihypertensives, statins, antithrombotics) or minimally invasive interventions (balloon dilation, stent implantation, bypass).

However, atherosclerosis can also constrict other blood vessels: for example, those in the legs, which manifests itself as intermittent claudication(peripheral circulatory disorders, peripheral arterial occlusive disease, PAD), or the carotid arteries (CAVD, risk of stroke) with circulatory disorders in the brain with symptoms such as impaired vision, dizziness or syncope (loss of consciousness).
Treatment procedure
The screening for the prevention of cardiovascular diseases follows the motto "Prevention is better than treatment." The patient interview (medical history) in conjunction with simple examinations such as status (age, body weight and height, heart sounds, breath sounds), resting ECG, blood pressure and the laboratory chemistry of blood lipids (cholesterol) and long-term sugar (HbA1c) serve to assess the cardiovascular risk of suffering a heart attack or stroke in the next 10 years and allow an individualized preventive strategy (personal medicine). Functional examinations such as cardiac ultrasound (echo), carotid duplex, oscillography and arterial pressure, 24-hour ECG and 24-hour blood pressure profile as well as ergometry are valuable diagnostic and preventive tools. The earlier the risk of a heart attack or stroke is detected, the better they can be prevented.

FAQs
Coronary artery disease is a condition of the coronary arteries in which narrowing of the arteries leads to reduced blood flow to the heart. As a result, the heart muscle is no longer supplied with enough oxygen.
Angina pectoris refers to a feeling of tightness or pressure in the chest, often caused by reduced blood flow to the heart. These symptoms often occur during physical exertion or stress.
Possible symptoms include:
Chest pain or a feeling of tightness
Shortness of breath
Tightness in the chest
Pain in the arm, back, or jaw
rapid fatigue
Dizziness or nausea
If you experience sudden, severe chest pain, shortness of breath, or suspect a heart attack, seek medical help immediately.
Common causes and risk factors include:
Atherosclerosis (hardening of the arteries)
High blood pressure
high cholesterol levels
Smoking
Diabetes
Overweight
Lack of exercise
Depending on the symptoms and risk profile, the following may be performed:
detailed medical history
physical examination
ECG and stress ECG
Echocardiogram
Blood tests
further cardiac tests
We begin with a detailed discussion of your symptoms, medical history, and risk factors. We then perform the appropriate tests tailored to your individual needs.
Treatment may include:
Lifestyle changes
drug treatment
Management of risk factors
regular cardiac checkups
further procedures in certain cases
Key measures include:
Quitting Smoking
regular exercise
healthy eating
Blood Pressure and Cholesterol Management
Stress reduction
Yes. Shortness of breath can be a sign of cardiovascular disease and should be evaluated by a doctor, especially when it occurs during physical activity.
The cost depends on the scope of the diagnostic tests and treatment. The initial consultation (depending on the necessary examinations) costs between €290 and €350.
You can get the exact prices during a personal consultation.
Since these are medical examinations and treatments, health insurance may cover some or all of the costs.
At JUVENIS, you benefit from state-of-the-art cardiological diagnostics, personalized care, and experienced specialists. Early diagnosis and targeted treatment help significantly reduce the risk of serious cardiovascular diseases.
