Skin cancer is among the diseases with the highest chances of recovery. The prerequisite for this is early detection. A regular self-examination of the skin and moles is recommended to detect changes. If abnormalities occur, contact the Dermatologist whom you trust to have the changes examined. Once a year you should see a dermatologist and have a mole check or skin cancer screening carried out. If Skin cancer detected early, it can be treated effectively with an appropriate therapy.

How is a mole check performed at JUVENIS?

During a mole check or skin cancer screening at JUVENIS, the nevi are examined precisely with a dermatoscope. JUVENIS uses the most modern procedure currently available for screening: digital dermoscopy. The FotoFinder dermoscope is a device that can take digital images of moles in detailed, high resolution. This allows the moles to be examined closely and monitored, as changes can be documented during subsequent examinations.

How is skin cancer treated?

There are 2 types of skin cancer:

  • malignant melanoma:the most dangerous type of skin cancer, which originates from the pigment-producing cells of the skin
  • non-melanoma skin cancer (white skin cancer):This includes basal cell carcinoma, actinic keratoses and squamous cell carcinoma.

At JUVENIS, different treatment options are available for skin cancer: Dermatosurgery is one of JUVENIS's focal areas and, depending on the diagnosis, can even be performed on an outpatient basis in-house at JUVENIS.

Superficial tumors, such as actinic keratoses (precursors of white skin cancer), Bowen disease and superficial basal cell carcinomas (white skin cancer), are treated at JUVENIS using various therapy methods. These include ointment therapy, cryotherapy, dermatologic surgery or photodynamic therapy (PDT). This gentle form of therapy specifically destroys tumor cells while sparing the surrounding healthy tissue. At the same time, it is low-pain, provides very beautiful cosmetic results, and also scores with proven long-term efficacy.

Our surgical spectrum includes all benign and malignant skin lesions, such as melanoma (black skin cancer), squamous cell carcinoma, basal cell carcinoma (basalioma), actinic keratosis, atypical/dysplastic nevus (conspicuous mole), or other rare malignant skin tumors (e.g., fibrosarcoma, Merkel cell carcinoma).
