Great treatment success: Removal of seborrheic keratosis – age wart on the face

Age warts (Verrucae seborrhoica) are dark, rough spots that occur more frequently with age. Seborrheic keratoses are commonly found on the face, the trunk, the arms, and the backs of the hands. These skin changes are harmless. Because they can grow relatively quickly and sometimes itch, laypeople often mistake them for malignant melanoma (skin cancer). In case of doubt, a skin biopsy is performed.

In the left photo you can see a large age wart (seborrheic keratosis) on the patient's cheek. Dermatologist Dr. Tamara Kopp flattened this area using cryotherapy (cold therapy) (shaved it off). In the right photo we show you this area after the treatment. The skin here is healthy; no scars or damage can be seen. A great treatment success and a satisfied patient.
