Atopic dermatitis is a skin disease that causes chronic eczematous conditions of the skin. Until now there have been corticosteroid ointments for this, which many people are reluctant to use. Dr. Christine Bangert of JUVENIS in Vienna is currently testing an alternative ointment in a study at the Vienna General Hospital (AKH).

Study on a new treatment for atopic dermatitis

Derzeit läuft eine Studie am AKH Wien mit Dr. Christine Bangert von JUVENIS mit 40 Personen, die ein altes Antibiotikum bei Atopic dermatitis testen. Dieses tötet das Bakterium auf der Haut ab, wird vom Körper dennoch nicht aufgenommen und verursacht auch keine bleibenden Resistenzen. Diese Studie soll 2018 abgeschlossen werden und danach entscheidet sich, ob es zu einer größeren Zulassungsstudie kommt.
