Viral warts, also known as verrucae, are caused by human papillomaviruses (HPV). They often occur on the hands, feet or other parts of the body and are usually harmless, but often annoying.

First, the affected area of skin is thoroughly disinfected and locally anaesthetized to ensure pain-free treatment for the patient. The viral wart is then removed using a shave biopsy.
