Viral warts, also called verrucae, are caused by human papillomaviruses (HPV). They commonly occur on the hands, feet or other parts of the body and are usually harmless but often annoying.

First, the affected area of skin is thoroughly disinfected and locally anesthetized to enable a pain-free treatment for the patient. The viral wart was then removed by shave biopsy.
