Stubborn warts successfully removed – Nd:YAG laser proves effective

Warts can be very stubborn and may persist even after multiple treatments. In our practice at JUVENIS a particularly striking case was recently successfully treated by Dr. Tamara Kopp: despite eight cryotherapy treatments (freezing), the wart remained. Only through a targeted treatment with the Nd:YAG laser was the problem finally completely resolved.

When conventional wart treatments are not sufficient

Warts are caused by human papillomaviruses (HPV) and can become deeply rooted in the skin. Cryotherapy, i.e. freezing the wart with liquid nitrogen, is one of the most common standard treatments. In some cases—especially with long-standing or deeply seated warts—this method may not be sufficiently effective.

After the desired result failed to materialize, the treatment was switched to the Nd:YAG laser. This modern laser method targets the blood vessels within the wart. The laser's heat energy closes these vessels, depriving the wart of adequate blood supply so that it gradually dies off.

After five laser treatments, complete healing was finally achieved—as the before-and-after pictures clearly show.

For particularly stubborn warts, it is important to know that even modern procedures may require multiple sessions. However, the Nd:YAG laser offers a very effective option for treating warts that do not respond sufficiently to conventional methods.
