Psoriasis (also known as Schuppenflechte) is an inflammatory skin disease in which the body's own tissue is attacked by the immune system. Among other things, the immune messenger Interleukin-23 is involved. When this was neutralized, dermatologist Univ. Prof. Dr. Tamara Kopp and her team were able to reduce psoriasis symptoms.

As reported on Kurier.at, dermatologist Univ. Prof. Dr. Tamara Kopp from the JUVENIS beauty center in Vienna and her team have proven that administering an antibody against psoriasis helps.

In a study, they injected a total of 77 patients (with moderate to severe symptoms) with different doses of the antibody “Tildrakizumab” or a placebo. In patients treated with high doses, up to 100 percent of their skin was cleared of psoriasis symptoms.

Meanwhile, the researchers have completed a phase II of the study and are now in a clinical phase III study, which is the final stage before possible approval.
