Age-related warts (verrucae seborrhoica) are dark, rough spots that appear more frequently with age. Seborrheic keratoses are often found on the face, upper body, arms and back of the hands. These skin changes are harmless. As they grow relatively quickly and sometimes itch, they are often mistaken for black skin cancer (melanoma) by laypeople. In case of doubt, a skin biopsy is carried out.

The photo on the left shows a large age-related wart (seborrheic keratosis) on the patient's cheek. Dermatologist Dr. Tamara Kopp used cryotherapy (cold therapy) to remove (peel off) this area. The photo on the right shows this area after treatment. Here the skin is healthy, there are no scars or damage to be seen. A great treatment success and a satisfied patient.
